BOX VANS
or LUTON VANS
The box van is a quite simply a chassis cab with a
Lightweight GRP or aluminium box on the back. The
addition of a shaped 'head' above the cab creates extra
space and is known as a Luton head or Luton van.
Box vans are available in lengths from 10'6" to over
18'. What you must remember is that the bigger the box
the heavier the van, and so the lower the payload it can
carry on a 3.5 tonne chassis cab.
You may need a low loading height on your box van which
can be achieved by using a front wheel drive chassis
cab, or a step in floor in the back.
You may need extra loading height (box vans are
generally built with a 7ft internal height).
The addition of a lightweight tail lift can be
invaluable in some business applications.

CURTAINSIDERS
Curtainsiders are based on a
3.5 tonne chassis cab platform. They have the internal
load area of a box van but because the sides can be
drawn back it can be loaded using a fork lift truck.
They can be produced lighter than a box van, hence, they
have a higher payload. Load lengths start at 10'6" and
go up to 16'. Please contact us with your specific
requirements.

DROPSIDES
Drop-sides are based on chassis cabs and have a flat bed
area with sides and tailgate that drop down, hence the
name. They can be used with the sides on or off
depending on the job required.
Drop-sides are generally made from a steel frame with
aluminium sides, this helps keep the weight of the body
down and so increases available payload. The body
lengths start at 9' and go all the way up to 16'.The
width of a drop-side is generally 6'8" to 7'. Drop-sides
can be made to your exact requirements so contact us
with your exact requirements.

TIPPERS
A versatile drop-side based
on a single or double chassis cab. Tippers are normally
made of steel for strength and can tip back (known as
one way) or tip back and to each side (known as 3 way).
Recent developments have resulted in a steel framed
tipper with high strength aluminium sides, the benefit
being an increase in payload without a loss in strength.
Most manufacturers now produce an in house tipper which
means you can now get a discounted tipper off the shelf.
Tipper load lengths are generally from 9'(double cab) to
10'6"(single cab)
