Refrigerated and freezer vans

Refrigerated vans and freezer vans  are a vital cog in the wheels of many businesses across the UK. Current health and safety regulations have resulted in more and more refrigerated vans being used to transport perishable goods from fish to cakes; flowers to the humble sandwich.

Two types of  conversion are available to you.

Firstly we have the wet line system.

The Wetline system

The wetline system is the traditional system. The rear of the van is plylined and the back of the plylining is insulated. The resin is added to the front of the plylining giving you a smooth or rough finish dependent on your requirements. You then choose the refrigeration system.

The advantages of Wet lining.

When the conversion is complete you are left with a solid strong work space. The vehicle is easy to wash out and clean and the surface is hard wearing.

In summary

Wetline conversions should be used when it is known that the vehicle is likely to undergo very hard work. Be aware of the time needed for conversion.

We supply all makes and models of van with wet line conversions. We can fit any make of refrigeration unit for you. Contact us with your requirements

Secondly we have the dryline system.

So what is different with this system?

The Coolkit system is the biggest innovation in refrigerated vehicle converting for decades. It's light, strong, and quick to install (and also to remove at the end of the vehicles life). This means high payload and durability together with more options at vehicle disposal including re-use of the conversion - all with the fastest turnaround in the industry. The conversion consists of a number of pre-formed panels installed one at a time within a fraction of the time and with significantly less manpower when compared to traditional methods.

Does this method work?

It certainly does. It's been thoroughly evaluated in all sorts of applications spanning years of product development- including frozen, chilled and multi temperature - and it's been the conversion choice of many fleet operators.

How heavy is it?

It's the lightest on the market. The linings weigh between 55kg for a car derived van up to about 225kg for a long wheelbase van (excluding the refrigeration unit). The light weight is because there is  no timber frame and no plywood used in the side walls. Their choice of materials including continuous sheet GRP and RTM grade extruded polystyrene ensure light weight with ample strength.

Which vans do you convert?

There are linings available for virtually every van. New and used vans can be converted. the lining fits the profile of the van perfectly - requiring only minimal finishing to seal around the edges of the panels so that the lining becomes waterproof for washing. Every lining is CNC cut meaning that each one is as good a fit as the last.

How long to convert?

The length of time required to carry out the conversion is the shortest in the industry. It varies from 8 hours for the simplest car-derived van conversion up to a maximum of 26 hours to convert a large van to freeze specification. Fridge fitting is on top of this, adding another 2 days - but even then the largest and most complex of vehicles can be turned around inside a week. This is vastly superior to the time taken using wet-lay process.

The advantages of Dry lining.

Its lighter than wet lining which increase the payload. It is quicker to install which help with the lead time. It can be installed into other similar vehicles after use in the original one.

In summary the dryline is very good for people concerned with achieving the maximum payload on their van. The turn around time is also very good.
